This 3M backup pad supports 3M clean sanding discs (sold separately), offering flexibility and conformability for various applications. It features a tapered edge for feather edging or blending painted areas, and medium-density foam for surface sanding. The 3M Hookit attachment system allows for easy disc changes and reuse. When paired with a vacuum and a clean sanding disc, its unique hole and channel design pulls dust away from the sanding surface, preventing loading, increasing productivity, and providing a cleaner work environment. Compatible with orbital or random orbital sanders, this pad's dust management system outperforms five or six-hole products, extending disc life and maximizing cut rate. When used with a self-generated vacuum sanding tool and a 3M clean sanding filter bag (sold separately), it reduces disc loading and improves working conditions. It can also be used with a central vacuum ready sander.
